Blog Post 1: Describe 10 nm and mole of atoms

What is the size of 10 nm?
10 nm is 10x10^-9 meters.  If you compare the diameter of a human hair to 10 nm, a human hair is still 1,000 times larger in diameter than 10 nm.  A human hair is roughly 10,000 nm in diameter.  If you magnified a human hair by 1,000 times it would only be 1 cm in diameter.

What is one mole of atoms equivalent to?
One mole of atom's is equal to Avogadro's Number, which is 6.023x10^23 atoms.  If you had one mole of watermelon seeds, they would be found inside a melon slightly larger than the moon.  Another example would be if you took one mole of moles, and aligned them heat to tail, they would stretch roughly eleven million light years and weigh almost as much as the moon.
